OnHold Music Supports Seattle Arts

Here's how...

The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has agreements with online retailers CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon that enable people to Seattle to purchase music. A small portion of each sale (typically 7% up to $1/CD sold) is set aside to further arts education while the artist's revenue remains untouched. There is no cost to the City for the retail agreements and artists are not required to establish relations with these retailers to participate in OnHold.

Technical Detail
When you link to purchase products from these websites a portion of each sale goes to support the arts education programs of the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs. Purchases made through these third party sites are subject to the policies and procedures of those sites. Order fulfillment and customer service relating to orders placed at any of those third party sites, including the collection of applicable sales taxes, are the sole responsibility of such sites. Any concerns regarding order fulfillment, customer service, privacy policies or other issues relating to these third party online retail sites should be directed to the Webmaster or site administrator of the site.

How do these relationships work?
The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has agreements with online retailers to offer merchandise through links on our site. Purchases made through these links result in a portion of your total purchase being given to the Office, called a revenue share. These funds are used to support arts education. The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs only receives this money if you shop through one of the links on www.seattle.gov/onhold. Once you've entered the third party site, the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs receives a revenue share from all products you purchase during that visit.

Why shop through www.seattle.gov/onhold?
Supporting local music is always a good idea. OnHold showcases Seattle artists and the links provided on www.seattle.gov/onhold are specially coded to designate you as an Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs supporter. This is the only way to ensure that your purchase goes to supporting our arts education programs.

What happens to my personal information?
When shopping at one of the third party retail sites with which the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has a relationship, you are subject to that site's privacy and security policies.

Where do I direct questions about my purchases?
