Scam alert: Miracle ClearView is marketing a "free" digital converter box.  The main problem is that it costs significantly more than one you can buy in any retail store, and you don't get to use the coupon from the federal government.  If you have any questions about ads you see for "free" digital converter boxes, please do not hesitate to call Seattle's Office of Cable Communications at 206-386-1989.

Consumer Alert!

Some retailers are selling the old, analog TV's without required notice that the TV's will be obsolete after 2/17/09. If you are buying a new TV, please make sure that it says "digital," has an input connection labeled "digital input" or has the letters ATSC.

Where you can buy a digital converter box.
Digital converter boxes are now available at Best Buy and Radio Shack throughout Seattle. We have also heard that a box retailing for $39.95 will be available in June, but we do not yet have retail locations. Please return to this site for updated information.

Certified converter boxes are available from both national and local retailers. Call ahead to confirm availability of coupon-eligible converter boxes on the day you plan to shop.
