Washington State Growth Management Act

2008 Proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendments

In early 2008, a number of amendments were proposed for the City of Seattle's Comprehensive Plan. They were submitted by City Departments, other agencies, the public, or City Council Members for consideration in the 2008 annual Comprehensive Plan amendments process. The City Council asked that some amendments be further analyzed by the Department of Planning and Development, and on August 19, 2008, the Mayor presented his recommended amendments to Council.

Throughout September 2008, Councilmembers will thoroughly review and analyze the proposed recommendations, listen to thoughts and concerns from the public, and make a final decision for which amendments will be included in Seattle’s Comprehensive Plan.

Council has scheduled a public hearing on September 22 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers to hear directly from you. You are also welcome to contact Councilmembers directly to share your thoughts and opinions about the proposed amendments.

You can review the Mayor’s Recommended Comprehensive Plan Amendments Report.
