Boundries: North-College, East-23rd Avenue, Sotuh-Colombian Way, West-15th Avenue
Departments: Seattle Parks & Recreation, Seattle Arts & Cultural Affairs, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle City Light, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Department of Construction and lan Use and Seattle Public Utilities.
Cleanup Activities:
- SDOT Pothole Rangers crew patched 5 potholes.
- SDOT Signs and Markings crews replaced 12 damaged, weathered or missing traffic signs.
- SDOT Street Maintenance crews swept 32 curb miles of streets.
- SDOT Landscape crews planted 29 trees along 15th Ave NW.
Shrubbery Removal:
- Seattle Parks & Recreation crews removed Scotch broom.
- Seattle Parks & Recreation crews prepared and sprayed weeds in the tree wells and fence line.
- Seattle Parks & Recreation crews mulched and spread chips.
- Seattle Parks & Recreation crews provided truck and tractor support, and delivered 15 yards of chips.
- Seattle Parks & Recreation crews removed Red Twig Dogwood along the Beacon Ave North & South path, also mulched and weeded along front of the driving range.
Street Lights:
- SCL repaired/relamped 122 lights in the in the Beacon Hill target area.
Graffiti Removals:
- SPU Graffiti Ranger clean up for the Beacon Hill target area included: 172 graffiti removals and 70 graffiti paint-outs.
Miscellaneous
Mayor Nickels lead more than 30 neighborhood volunteers, staff from several City of Seattle departments, Beacon Hill Chamber of Commerce, North Beacon Hill Council, South Beacon Hill Council, North Beacon Hill Council, and Stevens Triangle Park Committee in litter pick-ups, street cleaning, street light repairs, graffiti paint-outs, and weeding at Stevens Triangle Park.
