On December 20, more than 40 residents, business owners, and other community volunteers joined forces to beautify Carkeek Park. Members of the Church of Scientology worked with Boy Scouts and Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation staff to weed and spruce up the Park.
Cleanup Activities:
- Replaced 6 damaged, weathered or missing traffic signs
- Swept 14 curb miles of street
- Repaired, relamped or updated 28 streetlights
- Spread 20 yards of bark/wood chips
- Picked up garbage bags from 3 sites
- Pruned 3,000 square feet of foliage
- Removed 1.5 tons of shrubs
- Removed 91 graffiti tags
- Executed 40 graffiti paintouts
- Unclogged 2 sewer drains
