Mark your calendar! Lake Union Park Grand Opening is on September 24 & 25!
Friday, September 24-Seattle Parks Foundation's inaugural Green Tie Gala Fundraiser will take place under a big tent in the park and feature a northwest meal catered by Chef Tom Douglas and music and dancing by the Michael Benson Band. Grammy Award winning crooner John Proulx will be featured during cocktail hour.
Saturday, September 25- This free community celebration from sunrise until sunset will kick off with a Family Fun Run and Sunrise Yoga, and continue all day with family activities on land and water: musical and theatrical performances on two stages, model boat races, paddle boarding, a bicycle expo, a classic yacht parade, environmental education, history trail tours, a fitness field, a farmer's market, parade of Seattle mascots, and more!

Wading Pool Closure
Budget cuts make it necessary for Seattle Parks and Recreation to reduce our summer wading pool program. While only five pools will be completely closed as a result of budget cuts, many of the remaining wading pools will operate on a reduced schedule. The Japanese Garden Celebrates 50 Years!
