Next Steps For The Opportunity Fund Process
We are pleased to announce that we have received 95 Project Applications
city-wide. Congratulations on such an amazing turnout!
The Opportunity Fund provides funding only for community initiated
park development or property acquisition projects. Parks will award
up to $7 million to projects in this first funding cycle of the Opportunity
Fund. The Levy Citizens Oversight Committee has developed criteria
for evaluating, nominating, and recommending a package of Opportunity
Fund projects to the Mayor and City Council.
Opportunity Fund Timeline (updated 4/28/10)
- April 2, 2010 - Project Applications Due
- May 2010 - Parks staff will contact project applicants
on next steps in process
- June 14 & 28, 2010 - Presentations
by Proponents to the Oversight Committee
- September 2010 - Public Hearing on Project Prioritization
and Funding Recommendations
- January 2011 - Project Funding Recommendations
to Mayor and City Council
- March 2011 - Targeted City Council Approval of
Project Funding Recommendations
- April 2011 - Begin Project Implementation
