Probation Volunteer Opportunities
Probation Services is currently recruiting volunteers to join us in our work.
Volunteer Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
- Minimum 3-month service commitment. 6-month commitment is preferred.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Complete a criminal history background check.
- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to volunteer in-person at the Seattle Municipal Court in downtown Seattle.

Volunteer Opportunities
Community Resource Center Volunteer
The Community Resource Center is a social service hub located within the courthouse. Volunteers will learn court protocols and procedures and gain a working knowledge of various community social service resources.
- Develop a solid working knowledge of the CommunityResource Center (CRC) and community social services partners.
- Data entry. Assist in compiling data using Excel and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Work a minimum of 8 hours per week in the CRC facilitating defendant linkages to DSHS, housing, mental health, chemical dependency services, and other as necessary.
- Conduct orientation for individuals visiting the CRC.
- Provide excellent customer service and develop written communications.
- Answer phone and greet visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Review paperwork for completeness and access client information through computerized data entry/retrieval system.
- Work closely with supervisor regarding client issues.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and decorum of Seattle Municipal Court.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
